Officer elections were held on Monday, April 24th. Congratulations to the following officers for the 2006-2007 year:
Brian Wollum - President
Rhea Wyss, Kelly Hogan - Co-Vice-Presidents
David Buckley - Treasurer
Kelly Biers - Secretary

Personal Thanks from Current Leadership:
I want to thank everyone that helped with SAGE events during the 2005-2006 school year. I had so much fun this year as President! This year has meant so much to me, and I'm sad that I couldn't run for leadership next year but there's a lot of things that I need to get done. I am so excited for next year and the leadership that was elected in. I know that Brian will be a great president, and that SAGE will continue to grow and get better for years to come. I love you all. (num!) ------ Julie Thompson (aka Starr Mackenzie)
What an amazing growth year for SAGE! I am honored to have served you in my interim capacity as Vice President and webmistress. I will be around this summer to help the new leadership transition and with Pride committees. I would like to thank Julie for your infectious enthusiasm, Deirdre for your unwavering guidance, and every SAGE member for your countless hours of volunteering. Together we make this community a better place to live. Be well, Live Strong, and "Bright Blessings!" -- Matthew

The next event is Sunday, April 30th, 8:00 PM at the Coffee Hag. Get involved with SAGE, meet people, and build community (more details on the website).

South Central MN Pride:
TAKE PRIDE, TAKE PART, TAKE ACTION!
This year's Pride events will be September 15-17, 2006. Are you Creative? Organizational? Love to Volunteer? Need a summer Internship? Planning committee meetings continue to build momentum, but there are many ways to get involved. Email James at southcentralmnpride@gmail.com ASAP.

Rainbow Night 2006 - A BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers and attendees, especially "Abe" for an amazing potluck, Cheyenne and area youth who attended the Youth Dance, Andy and Linda for the awesome decorations, and of course: Double Trouble Productions for the fun music.

National Day of Silence: (dayofsilence.org)
Over 20 SAGE and LGBT Center students spend last Wednesday in silence to raise awareness of the harmful effects of homophobia. Our SAGE President, Julie, was featured in the Reporter wearing a sign "Homophobia Hurts Us All" while watching Tim Walz's speech on the mall. Thank you Rhea, Brian, and other volunteers who helped make this year's Day of Silence a success.

Outfront MN JustFair Lobby Day :
Outfront.org has fun images of this years AMAZING Lobby Day at the Minnesota State Capitol building. Over 30 students and community members from Mankato/N.Mankato and St. Peter lobbied for equal rights and against the proposed anti-gay-marriage amendment. Thank you to Paul, Jessica, Brian and others for planning and attending this crucial event. Be sure to join us next year!
