FLion!
FLion! Mascot

Who is the FLion?

The FLion! is the official mascot of the Foreign
Language Initiative. The Lion of Nubia , endowed with a compassionate heart, seeing that the FLion! had inherited a world of language barriers and social discord, helped the FLion! create a place where both halves of the earth overlap to form a bridge. This point of contact brings people together and turns dreams of cultural harmony into reality that reigns in the hearts of all who become a part of this thriving community of friendship, language and interaction. The spirit of their humanitarian vision is embodied in the FLion! we meet at all FLI events faithfully and diligently promoting FLiteracy! The FLion! invites everyone to discover the beauty inspired by different languages. The Lion of Nubia and the FLion! in all their forms remain by our side to guide us gently on that journey leading to the hearts of friends we have yet to meet.
